Hmart mira mesa4/6/2023 ![]() It’s a great place to shop for anything Korean. I do like that some of their produce is pretty inexpensive. The only thing stopping me from doing so is that some of the items here are a little bit pricier compared to other Asian markets. ![]() It’s practically impossible to find parking on the weekends or after work! It doesn’t help that it’s located in the same plaza as In n Out.ģ stars but I’m sorta leaning towards 3. I got to try some bluefin sashimi, potato soup, spicy chicken dumplings, popsicles and more! The only negative thing I have to comment on is the parking. I do like their japjae: D There are food sample kiosks throughout the store. In the front of the store, you can find sushi rolls alongside the hot pre-made to-go food items. You can purchase a variety pack of sashimi or individual fish type. There’s also boiled eel, fish eggs and fresh ginger for sushi. The sashimi selection is limited though - salmon, bluefin tuna, yellowtail tuna, and about 2 other types of fish I just can’t remember. It’s a lot cheaper if you want to have take-out sushi compared to sushi joints. They have someone preparing the sushi there, cutting an entire fish right before your eyes. I mean, 2⁄ 3 are essentials in my kitchen anyways: P Fruits were also fairly priced :) The seafood section is impeccable, including the sushi grade fish in the back of the store. Yes, I get super excited over these deals so I bought some even though I didn’t know what I was going to cook yet HAHA. Enoki mushrooms were 3 bundles for $ 1!!! Green onions were 7 bundles for $ 1, and cilantro was 3 bundles for $ 1. One of the cheapest deals on veggies in town! The produce are so fresh, plenty and affordable. But I do hVe to compliment the awesome music choice they have playing! I swear they must have a DJ sometimes haha I love this place, but some of these old Asian folks need to keep their eyes peeled & be aware of their surroundings! They never realize there’s someone behind them, always taking their sweet time, pointing & admiring God knows what, the décor? The organized ramen? Move it people. I shop here nearly every day, I bump into other restaurant owners too which is nice to have quick small talk with. I’ve always had a pretty pleasant experience here. To the left side, they have a Paris Baquette bakery! Finally got one in Mira Mesa! The bakery is full of awesome pastry, sandwiches, sweets, & even Birthday cakes! If you want a custom cake, of course you would need to call a couple days ahead. Wishful thinking! They have a nice little eating spot to the right side of the market, & in the back, you can buy pre-marinated meat! Perfect for BBQs if you’re lazy. ![]() I wish they had a couple separate lines strictly for restaurant owners only. Anyways, it’s nice that we can pick up boxes of produce at once, & super sized bags. People need to be aware of this fact in the morning. My boyfriend & I own a restaurant & we’re in a rush all the time. I swear all the house moms are just practicing their cat walk on a runway or something, but I wish I could run them over sometimes. Variety! It’s usually PACKED between 10AM- 2PM, it’s almost unbearable. Before H-mart, I usually went to the Vietnamese Lucky Seafood, but H-Mart is bigger & has different Asian food/produce. It’s great to grocery shop for dinner & get Asian snacks! I’m glad they opened an H-Mart here because I would normally have to drive to Zion in Convoy to get some of the same stuff. This place is a joke and getting more ghetto every time I go there! This is the last draw! So I will easily give my business to Zion and 99 Ranch.Īwesome Asian supermarket. When I asked what the «use by» date is for, neither can explain to me. They just kept saying they don’t take back meat. Both the «customer service person» (I put this in quotes cause they don’t have anyone at the customer service desk, it’s a cashier that has to double duty) and «manager» (this is in quotes too because he was a cashier that is Korean and doesn’t really speak English). HMart however refuses to stand behind their product. But since this was not an isolated incident, something needed to be done. ![]() The first time, my wife just threw the meat away, thinking it just went bad. Since I didn’t have time to take it back, I finally went back 6⁄ 12 still before expiration and they wouldn’t exchange it!!! Not only did they not want to exchange it, their staff was rude the entire time essentially accusing me of spoiling the meat! I didn’t go to return the meat because the $ 7 was worth it, but rather this was the second time it had happened. HMart will not stand behind their product! I bought their BBQ beef ribeye on 6⁄ 6 and we tried to cook it on 6⁄ 9 and the meat was spoiled despite the package saying «use by» 6⁄ 13! A whole 4 DAYS BEFORE it’s supposed to go bad.
